perfumes
when i get into something i get really into it, and currently i'm really into perfumes. every perfume is a unique combination of different notes which all come together to create the overall scent. the notes are broken down into top notes (you smell this immediately upon application, and they evaporate quickly), middle notes (the middle part of the perfume), and base notes (longest lasting, underlie the whole perfume). fragrantica is basically a wiki which has a breakdown of pretty much every perfume & what notes are present in them, and that sort of detail is fascinating to me.

it's very fun stuff! i'm having a lot of fun researching the perfumes i already own, as well as trying new ones from samples or in store & figuring out what i like and don't like.
